Your adventure begins with a scenic drive in a Land Rover Defender, leading to a sunset safari through the Reserve’s stunning canyons and valleys. As night falls, a lantern-lit camp unveils its magic, inviting you to explore nocturnal wildlife with UV lights and expert guidance. Indulge in a sumptuous South African-inspired braai dinner, featuring grilled delicacies and decadent desserts. Unwind by the bonfire with an immersive astronomy experience, complete with telescopic views of the celestial wonders. This four-hour experience promises to awaken your senses and leave you with memories to treasure forever.

  • Pick-up from AlUla hotels in a Land Rover Defender 130 between 05:00 PM and 05:30 PM, depending on the season. We will inform you of the exact pick-up time around noon on the day of your experience.
  • Arrive at the Sharaan Nature Reserve and receive your stainless steel water bottle to take home. Get a briefing from your dedicated Conservation Guide about your experience.
  • Explore the Reserve as you embark on a safari through the canyons and valleys at dusk.
  • Arrive at your camp for the evening and experience true magic as the scene of lantern-lit canyons unfolds before you.
  • Venture into nature with your dedicated Conservation Guide and UV lights as you try to spot nighttime creatures and learn about why they are so important to the ecosystem.
  • Indulge in a four-course meal that consists of a South African-style "braai" completed with grilled meats, vegetables and sides as well as indulgent appetisers and desserts.
  • Retreat to the lounging area and relax next to the bonfire.
  • Listen to tales of the night sky with an immersive stargazing session and even get to see the stars and planets up close through a telescope.
  • Return to the hotel between 09:30 PM and 11:00 PM, depending on the season. Your total experience will last approximately four hours

  • Pick-up from AlUla hotels is included and will be in a shared, air-conditioned vehicle (unless booked otherwise).
  • As the desert can get quite warm during the day all year round, we suggest bringing a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and cool, comfortable clothes.
  • Please ensure to wear closed-toe shoes throughout the experience.
  • For desert safaris in the winter (November to March), we recommend bringing something warm to wear for the evening.
  • Bookings need to be made at least four hours in advance when booking online.
  • Children between the age of 5-11 years will be charged at a child’s rate.
  • A private car booking is required if travelling with children under five years old.
  • This safari includes a hearty dinner; however, please inform us of any dietary requirements or allergies when booking. We can accommodate vegetarian and gluten-free guests.
  • Unless a private vehicle is booked, the dinner table will be shared with the other guests in your shared vehicle, allowing for more opportunity to connect with like-minded travellers.
  • Bathroom facilities are available at the camp.
  • The nature drive is not recommended for guests more than six months pregnant.
  • Our vehicles can only accommodate up to five guests, ensuring a comfortable, exclusive experience.
