Your journey begins with a nature-filled drive through the untamed wilderness of Sharaan at sunset. Explore the Reserve’s ancient canyons and learn about petroglyphs carved in stone, as your dedicated Conservation Guide brings local folklore to life.

While the sun shares its last rays with Sharaan, sit atop one of the canyons and overlook a vast valley while sipping on a refreshing drink and enjoying delicious canapes. On a nocturnal eco walk, try and look for local wildlife and creatures using UV lights under the guidance of your expertly trained Conservation Guide.

As night falls, a lantern-lit camp unveils its quiet magic, inviting you to indulge in a sumptuous, South African-inspired braai beneath the stars of Sharaan.

Then, the land speaks.

The experience crescendos in a breathtaking projection display of light, sand, and story. As the canyon walls come alive with stunning visuals, the deep history of the land unfolds — from the formation of Earth to the rise of ancient AlUla. Told through handcrafted sand animation and cinematic projection, this is not just a show — it’s a portal through time. As the final grains settle and the canyon grows still, the sky above becomes the last storyteller. A magical stargazing session unfolds around a glowing bonfire, guided by our expert Astronomer who reveals the secrets of the night sky. It’s a serene and soulful ending to a journey that connects you to the Earth, the stars, and everything in between.

Pick-up from AlUla hotels in a Land Rover Defender 130 between 02:30 PM and 04:00 PM, depending on the season. We will inform you of the exact pick-up time around noon on the day of your experience.
Arrive at the Sharaan Nature Reserve and receive your stainless steel water bottle to take home. Get a briefing from your dedicated Conservation Guide about your experience.
Explore the Reserve as you embark on a safari through the canyons and valleys, with several opportunities to stop and explore. Points of interest include vast rock formations telling unique stories, inscriptions dating back thousands of years, and lush fields in which you can truly take in the unique scents of the local flora.
At sunset, embark on a short hike up a canyon to be greeted with a breathtaking scene of a vast valley and canyons. Sit back, relax and enjoy canapes as you watch the sun go down.
Arrive at your camp for the evening and experience true magic as the scene of lantern-lit canyons unfolds before you.
Venture into nature with your dedicated Conservation Guide and UV lights as you try to spot nighttime creatures and learn about why they are so important to the ecosystem.
Indulge in a four-course meal that consists of a South African-style "braai" completed with grilled meats, vegetables and sides as well as indulgent appetisers and desserts.
Watch a captivating projection of sand art against the canyons telling the story of AlUla.
Retreat to the lounging area and relax next to the bonfire as you listen to tales of the night sky with an immersive stargazing session and even get to see the stars and planets up close through a telescope.
Return to the hotel between 09:30 PM and 11:00 PM, depending on the season. Your total experience will last approximately seven hours.

Pick-up from AlUla hotels is included and will be in a shared, air-conditioned vehicle (unless booked otherwise).
As the desert can get quite warm during the day all year round, we suggest bringing a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and cool, comfortable clothes.
Please ensure to wear closed-toe shoes throughout the experience.
For desert safaris in the winter (November to March), we recommend bringing something warm to wear for the evening.
Bookings need to be made at least four hours in advance when booking online.
Children between the age of 5-11 years will be charged at a child’s rate.
A private car booking is required if travelling with children under five years old.
This safari includes a hearty dinner; however, please inform us of any dietary requirements or allergies when booking. We can accommodate vegetarian and gluten-free guests.
Unless a private vehicle is booked, the dinner table will be shared with the other guests in your shared vehicle, allowing for more opportunity to connect with like-minded travellers.
Bathroom facilities are available at the camp.
The nature drive is not recommended for guests more than six months pregnant.
Our vehicles can only accommodate up to five guests, ensuring a comfortable, exclusive experience.
