Sharaan Nature Reserve has countless natural wonders to encounter and marvel at, including unexplained symmetrical patterns, vast valleys that inspire, and listen to canyons whisper their tales.
Feel in awe as you drive past magnificent canyons that stretch as far as the eye can see. Engage with nature at one of the many stops where you can savour the unique scents of the local flora or get in touch with history as you explore the rock carvings up close.
Set in the shadows of the canyons, a South African style of cooking, called "braai" will await you as you sit down for lunch. The aromas of hearty grilled dishes are complimented with delicious appetisers and desserts inspired by South Africa's bold flavours.

- Pick-up from AlUla hotels in a Land Rover Defender 130 between 09:00 AM and 10:00 AM, depending on the season. We will inform you of the exact pick-up time the day before your experience.
- Arrive at the Sharaan Nature Reserve and receive your stainless steel water bottle to take home. Get a briefing from your dedicated Conservation Guide about your experience.
- Explore the Reserve on a nature safari through the canyons and valleys, with several opportunities to stop and explore. Points of interest include vast stone formations telling unique stories, rock inscriptions dating back thousands of years, and lush fields in which you can truly take in the unique scents of the local flora.
- Savour a four-course lunch amongst the canyons, inspired by a South African-style "braai" complete with grilled meats, vegetables and sides, mouth-watering appetisers and indulgent desserts. Please note that unless a private vehicle is booked, the lunch table will be shared with the other guests in your shared vehicle, providing an opportunity to connect further with like-minded travellers.
- Pick-up from AlUla hotels is included and will be in a shared, air-conditioned vehicle (unless booked otherwise).
- As the desert can get quite warm during the day all year round, we suggest bringing a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and cool, comfortable clothes.
- Please ensure to wear closed-toe shoes throughout the experience.
- For desert safaris in the winter (November to March), we recommend bringing something warm to wear for the evening.
- Bookings need to be made at least 18 hours in advance when booking online.
- Children between the age of 5-11 years will be charged at a child’s rate.
- A private car booking is required if travelling with children under five years old.
- Please note that unless a private vehicle is booked, lunch will be shared with the other guests in your shared vehicle.
- This safari includes a hearty lunch; however, please inform us of any dietary requirements or allergies when booking. We can accommodate vegetarians and gluten-free guests.
- Bathroom facilities are available at the camp.
- The nature drive is not recommended for guests more than six months pregnant.
- Our vehicles can only accommodate up to five guests, ensuring a comfortable, exclusive experience.
